Do you find prayer and stillness are filled with distraction and difficulty in focusing? Would you like to learn how mindfulness can help your spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing? What are some of the possible benefits? Mindfulness can help you manage better with life’s ups and downs and help you cultivate calmness, peace and appreciation of life and much more ...
In this course, we explore the foundations of mindfulness, as taught in secular mindfulness courses, and we discover how these can support our prayer life, attentiveness and stillness. We will be focusing on Scripture and its wisdom about prayer and stillness and exploring the connections with mindfulness practices. And maybe we’ll begin to discover or rediscover “that a deep and God-given stillness and peace was available to us even in the midst of the brokenness and chaos of our lives.” (Mark Williams, Emeritus Professor of Clinical Psychology, Honorary Canon of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford).
In her local church in Earls Barton, Nicola is a Lay Worship Leader, is involved in running a Julian Contemplative Prayer Group and is also very actively involved in campaigning for social and climate justice through ‘Transform Trade’ and ‘Tearfund.’
Who can participate?
This Mindfulness for Life course is suitable for people who are new to mindfulness, anyone who has tried mindfulness before, either a course or an app, or perhaps read a book and wants the structure of a course led by an experienced teacher.
“I believe the things I’ve learned will continually help me on my journey through life and equip me to manage difficulties in a better way.”
